Powder Filling and Device Assembly
In collaboration with Harro Hoefliger, global experts in powder filling and device assembly, Pharmatec Solutions Limited worked closely with the client’s North Carolina based team to develop a custom powder filling machine. This machine is also capable of assembling the client’s proprietary intranasal powder device. After undergoing extensive commissioning and testing at Harro Hoefliger’s facility in Germany, the equipment has now been fully installed and validated and is ready for commercial production batches ahead of the launch of this new migraine treatment.
Advanced Packaging Line with Built-In Inspection System
Pharmatec and the client also collaborated with Marchesini to develop a packaging line with the capability to apply a protective cap and two labels to the device. Once labelled, the device is placed into a pouch and sealed using a pouching machine. The sealed pouches are then transferred to a cartoner, where they are packed into cartons. These cartons are further packaged into outer boxes before being palletised for shipment.
The packaging line is equipped with a highly sophisticated, integrated inspection system designed to guarantee that only the highest quality products make their way to the patient. This advanced system meticulously checks every aspect of the packaging process, ensuring that each unit meets the strictest standards of safety and efficacy before it leaves the facility. With this level of precision, patients can have full confidence that the products they receive are of the highest possible quality.
Pharmatec’s Role
The role of Pharmatec was to serve as the primary customer liaison, providing technical support, overseeing the equipment build, and conducting Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT). Upon the equipment’s arrival at the Contract Manufacturing Organisation (CMO), Pharmatec supervised the installation, performed Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), and managed the validation process. The equipment is now fully prepared for commercial batch production.
